After All These Years, Demon’s Souls is Headed to the Playstation Network

-

f ATLUS USA to Close Demons Souls Online Servers Come May 31st 2012After several years since launch and many cancelled plans to end the online service, ATLUS USA have today confirmed that their award-winning release of Demon’s Souls will be headed to the Playstation 3 as a digital download on the 8th January 2013 for $19.99. Demon’s Souls is the original game in the challenging game series by FROM Software, where you are left to traverse a number of worlds and battle challenging bosses – with the strong likelihood you will see your character killed more than a few times in each area.

To celebrate this release on the Playstation Network, ATLUS USA will be hosting a World Tendency Event for one week starting from the day of launch which will set it to Pure White. Pure White Tendency brings a number of changes to the game.  For one, the game will be adjusted to an easier difficulty setting, where enemies will have decreased HP, attack power, and defense, while players will inflict more damage when attacking.  Pure White Tendency is a rare occurance in the game so this is a great way for newcomers to learn the gameplay and immerse themselves in the world of Demon’s Souls.  Additionally, enemies will drop fewer upgrade stones and more healing items.  New areas and special NPCs will also be open; players just need to know where to find them.

Check out my (Very Old) review of the game HERE.
