Based on Team GrisGris’ Corpse Party series which since its humble beginnings on RPG Tsukuuru Dante 98 (A very early version of the RPG Maker software), has expanded to several games on the Playstation Portable and PC. The upcoming and more visual novel style release in the series is “Corpse Party The Anthology: Sachiko’s Hysteric Birthday Game of Love 2U” which drops some of the “Horror” element for what seems to be light-hearted content and fanservice.
Due for release next month, the game will see both a standard edition and a limited edition release. The limited edition release will come with a bonus anime OVA episode titled “Mystery Footage”. 5pb and Team GrisGris have released new screenshots of this anime episode, focusing on the main characters life outside of the walls of Heavenly Host Elementary School (Assumingly before they get trapped) and a darker scene which appears briefly in the game pertaining to the incidents which led to the school closing down 30 years prior.
XSEED Games released the first installment in the series last year to the Playstation Portable and judging from reception (Including my own), it proved to be well received and reviewed. There is no word on if this or the original PSP games sequel “Corpse Party: Book of Shadows” will be localized by the company.
