After four numbered games and several spin-off titles being a secondary non-playable character who has grown up under the care of Kazuma Kiryu and witnessed the events of all previous games, Haruka Sawamura is set to become the games fifth main character and first female playable character in the upcoming release of Yakuza 5. While she has matured since Yakuza 4, from currently known information she will not take part in battles like the other main characters but will have her own unique hangouts and gameplay system.
