While we have had small slivers of information regarding Yakuza 5 (or Ryu Ga Gotoku 5) over the last couple of months, namely hinting that similar to Yakuza 3 being co-set in Okinawa, that it would be set in several regions… the games official website has finally been opened announcing the game will be released in Japan in December 2012. With the websites release comes several bits of information:
- While Yakuza 4 and Yakuza: Of the End chose to include four playable characters during the storyline… it seems that they have chosen to include five in this game – three previously playable (Kazuma Kiryu, Taiga Saejima and Shun Akiyama), one new character (Tatsuo Shinada) and seemingly the recurring character Haruka Sawamura who has grown up as the game progressed and has played a key role in many of the games plotlines.
. - Indeed we will be seeing the return of Kamurocho, but the game will also take the characters to Osaka, Fukuoka, Sapporo and Nagoya.
