Every year, Google has always come up with an annual April Fools Day product, some of which have proven to be quite well thought out and realistic while others have been more prank-like in nature, but nevertheless interesting. This year they have come up with their new April Fools product tailored to us games – Google Maps 8-Bit for NES.
Despite covering several of this generations leading mobile phones, portable devices and PC’s, Google have so far neglected one of the worlds most popular retro game consoles – the NES and have therefore decided to promote their Google Maps 8-Bit. The game will be sold in cartridge form like the traditional games and will come with a modem port at the top corner of it. For further specifics, please check out the official trailer above.
Interested in trying out a “trial version” of the new game? You can try it from your browser by going to Google Maps and then clicking Quest in the upper right hand corner of the map.
