Whilst the wait for Final Fantasy Versus XIII continues, you won’t have to wait much longer for the release of Final Fantasy XIII-2 if that is any consolation. But before we go into the release dates – the above image is of the newly revealed Lightning Edition Ver. 2 Playstation 3 Bundle which consists of a 320GB Playstation 3, controller and I assume the game for 37,960 yen. But of course, as with most Playstation 3 special packs, it has not been announced for overseas release and I get the feeling that we won’t be seeing it over here.
Anyway, time for something a bit more interesting – the official release dates for the game. In Japan, this game is slated for release on the Playstation 3 console starting from December 15th 2011. It will come with a price tag of 7,980 yen, which knowing the price of games in Japan… isn’t all that bad. North America has an official release date of the 31st of January 2012 whilst Europe is a few days later on the 3rd of February 2012. Currently I am uncertain if the Europe release date pertains to the Australian release, but I will get in touch with Namco Bandai Partners, the distributor of the game in this region – and get back to you on that matter.
There is also apparently going to be downloadable content released down the track for this game.
