Ultimate *Confetti Throw* - Australia Now Able to Have the Long Awaited 18+ Classification for Games 1

Readers of any gaming website or blog run by someone from Australia will no doubt have heard the rants about Australia’s lack of an R18+ rating for games and how games such as the new Mortal Kombat game has been banned, the Left 4 Dead 2 game censored like hell and Fallout 3 temporarily banned over the world MORPHINE (You know, the pain-killer which is commonly used in HOSPITALS!). A few weeks back, every attorney general got together to discuss their decisions on whether or not we should have one….. everyone said YES!….. …. …. except for the New South Wales one who was undecided.

However, we can finally join the big boys in other countries by having our own 18+ rating system which will hopefully reduce the number of banned games in the future to close to zero. Today, the New South Wales attorney general Greg Smith has now given his formal support to the plan. They are now going to be working on the guidelines which does mean there is a possibility that some MA15+ (or all of them) could go to R18+ for example – put it is impossible to tell until the guidelines are released in the near future.

Anyway, this gamer for one is happy….. if only it was now possible to get some of the older banned games made available for our shores (or those that were never placed under classification for this reason)…. I am looking at you Rule of Rose *Stare*.
