After more than a decade since it last arrived on stages across Australia, Disney’s The Lion King is set to return to Sydney in April 2026 to kick off another Australian season, hopefully tour, at the Capitol Theatre. While this has been known for a little while now, what we now know is when you will be able to slip in for a chance to nab yourself the earliest of available tickets.
General public tickets are scheduled to go on sale at 9am AEDT on 16 October 2025, via the official The Lion King the Musical Australia website. However, for hose seeking earlier access, eligible CommBank Yello customers will have a presale window from 9am AEDT on Thursday 9 October 2025 until 8am AEDT on Thursday 16 October 2025.
Disney Theatrical Group is presenting this in partnership with the NSW Government and Destination NSW. This will be the ninth Disney Theatrical Group musical to play in Sydney across twenty years, following Australian runs of Beauty and the Beast, Mary Poppins and Frozen.
