Overlook Events and Square Enix have announced NieR: Piano Concert – Journeys 12025, a recital celebrating the 15th anniversary of the NieR game series which originated on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, later expanding into multiple new multimedia projects including future games, anime, novels, theatrical productions and more. Developed in collaboration with Square Enix Music and composer Keiichi Okabe, this concert highlights the emotional depth of the NieR franchise’s soundtrack through newly arranged piano performances.
The recital will feature music from NieR: Automata, NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139…, and NieR Re[in]carnation, arranged to showcase the expressive capabilities of the piano. The performance will be led by pianist Benyamin Nuss, known for his work in Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY, Symphonic Fantasies / Odysseys, and Kingdom Hearts concerts. The program will include pieces such as City Ruins, Peaceful Sleep, Amusement Park, Weight of the World, Inori (Prayers), Hills of Radiant Wind, Emil, Song of the Ancients, Kaine, and Fleeting Words, among others.
In conjunction with the tour, a special album recorded in Tokyo will be released, produced under the supervision of the NieR musical team and Square Enix. This album aims to capture the evocative nature of the series’ music, which has been widely praised for its artistic and emotional depth.
