The Australian premiere season of Back to the Future: The Musical is drawing ever closer, with the first performances set to commence at the Sydney Lyric Theatre from 26 September 2025. The Australian producers, Crossroads Live Australia and Colin Ingram Ltd has today confirmed that tickets for the first weeks of the production will be available for purchase from 10am (AEDT) on Friday, 14 February 2025 via the musical’s official website.
Based on the 1985 film Back to the Future, the musical features a book by Bob Gale, who co-wrote the original film trilogy alongside Robert Zemeckis. The production includes original music and lyrics by Alan Silvestri and Glen Ballard, alongside familiar songs from the film such as “The Power of Love” and “Johnny B. Goode”.
Adapted from the first film in the acclaimed trilogy, the story follows teenager Marty McFly, who accidentally travels back to 1955 in a DeLorean time machine invented by Dr. Emmett Brown. To secure his future, Marty must ensure that his high school-aged parents fall in love before returning to 1985.
Casting details for the Australian production, including the principal roles of Marty McFly and Doc Brown, will be announced in the coming months.
