In what would have undoubtedly been a challenging decision for all involved to make, due to sudden cast sickness which was originally going to delay the season a few days, Queensland Theatre has now confirmed that their entire season of POTUS is now cancelled. Given the timeliness of this production, and the talent they had involved in the season, this is undoubtedly disappointing for all involved. However here’s hoping that Queensland Theatre, director Lee Lewis and the cast manage to bring this production back during the Queensland Theatre 2025 Season.
This announcement was accompanied by the below statement:
Last night the difficult decision was taken by the Board of Queensland Theatre to cancel our season of POTUS, OR BEHIND EVERY GREAT DUMBASS ARE SEVEN WOMEN TRYING TO KEEP HIM ALIVE due to health issues impacting some of our wonderful cast.
The entire Company are heartbroken for you, our audience and supporters, as we always want to deliver the outstanding theatre experiences you love and deserve. However, the wellbeing of our cast, creatives and crew is our top priority.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your ongoing support of Queensland Theatre.
Those who have ticked for the season will have already been contacted by the Queensland Theatre box office, or contacted very soon.
