Following its inaugural Australian tour from 2021 until earlier this year, and subsequent international tour, it has been confirmed that Hamilton the Musical will be returning to the Sydney Lyric Theatre next year as part of an encore season currently exclusive to the city. This news was announced in recent days by producers Michael Cassel and Jeffrey Seller, and will return to where the show first arrived in Australia on 17 March 2021, where it opened at the same venue.
Having journeyed through Melbourne, Brisbane, and even New Zealand, the original Australian production wrapped up its performances in June. Now, eager fans have another chance to witness the magic from Tuesday 30 July 2024 onwards.
During his visit to the Australian production in Brisbane earlier this year, Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda commented that he would be delighted were the show to have a return engagement in Australia, and has since shared:

Michael Cassel, the Australian producer of HAMILTON, highlighted the significance of the Sydney premiere as it was the first global production to open post the COVID-19 pandemic, and that many fans couldn’t experience the premiere season:

Casting is currently underway for the Sydney season, and the full cast details will be unveiled at a later date.
