Arts Centre Melbourne, citing high demand, has announced it will be hosting additional performances of Stephanie Lake’s Manifesto. Originally scheduled for a limited season, the production will now run from 25 October to 5 November, offering fans a total of 10 shows at the Arts Centre Melbourne’s Playhouse. This is more than double, an additional 6, performances over the originally planned 4-show run. This also follows a recent international tour to the Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen festival in Germany.
Stephanie Lake expressed her enthusiasm for the show’s warm pre-season reception in Melbourne, stating:
Manifesto first debuted at Adelaide Festival in 2022, featuring nine dancers paired with nine drummers on individual drum-kits, all positioned in front of an eye-catching watermelon-pink velvet curtain. The intention is to present a “frenzy of movement and sound coalesce to create a vortex of irresistible human energy”.
Tickets for the extended season are currently available for purchase via the Arts Centre Melbourne website. The season is being presented by Arts Centre Melbourne and runs for approximately 60 minutes with no interval. Pricing ranges from $30.00 – $65.00 based on a number of factors.
