In a surprise announcement made by the show’s producer earlier today, it has been confirmed that Marina Prior will be concluding her time with Mary Poppins the Musical on 11 June 2023, having filled the dual role of Miss Andrew and Bird Woman since the commencement of the Melbourne season earlier this year. The character roles are once again being split between two actors, and will see two familiar faces from previous legs of the tour reprise their respective roles.

From Wednesday 14 June 2023, Patti Newton will be returning to Cherry Tree Lane as the Bird Woman. This follows her debut during last year’s Brisbane QPAC season, where she was the perfect fit for the beloved character and her associated song. The role of Miss Andrew on the other hand will be filled by Chelsea Plumley, the original Miss Andrew actor who initially left the cast in January 2023. This will follow the debut of their black comedy, Beautiful Highness, at Chapel Off Chapel in mid-May 2023, which looks to be an interesting production.

Both Newton and Plumley are confirmed to be continuing their engagement with the 2022-2023 Australian tour of Mary Poppins the Musical into its upcoming Adelaide and Perth seasons.
