By the end of this month, Mary Poppins the Musical would have had its first shows and opening night at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre’s (QPAC) Lyric Theatre in Brisbane. Producers Cameron Mackintosh, Disney Theatrical Productions, and Michael Cassel Group has confirmed plans to instate a $45.00 digital ticket lottery for the production, giving locals the opportunity to enjoy some of the best seats in the show for $45, should luck favour them.
Launching in Brisbane, the Lottery is powered exclusively through the TodayTix app (no in-person lottery as with some other productions in previous years), with a limited number of tickets for every performance. A quick guide on how to take advantage of this offer is as follows:
The first MARY POPPINS digital Lottery in Brisbane is now open and will close at 1:00pm on Thursday 20 October for tickets to performances 22-30 October. Drawn weekly, subsequent digital lotteries will begin each Friday and close the following Thursday for the upcoming week’s performances. To set an alert to be notified when the Lottery opens, download the TodayTix app from the iOS App Store or Android Google Play Store.
HOW TO ENTER:
- Download the official TodayTix app available for all iOS and Android devices in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
- The lottery will open at 12:01am every Friday and will close for entry at 1:00pm the next Thursday prior to the following week’s performances. Participants can enter to win the chance to purchase up to two tickets for any open Lottery performance and set an alert to be notified about future Lottery opportunities.
- Lottery entrants can share about the show on their Instagram story, Facebook account, and/or Twitter account to gain an additional Lottery entry per platform.
- Winner and non-winner notifications will be sent between 1:00pm and 6:00pm every Thursday for the upcoming week’s performances via email, SMS and mobile push notification. Eligible winners will have one hour to claim and pay for their tickets through the TodayTix app before they are offered to another entrant.
- Additional rules and full Terms & Conditions can be found at TodayTix.com.
Being able to introduce a brand-new generation to Mary’s magic in Sydney has been a joy, and the accessibility of the Lottery has helped us reach even more people – which is important as we continue to inspire and develop new audiences for theatre in Australia. We are incredibly proud that Brisbane’s very first TodayTix Lottery winners will be able to join us at QPAC to experience our spectacular show.
Michael Cassel – Australian Producer
After only operating in Australia for over a year before the global shutdown, bringing democratised, user-friendly cultural e-commerce technology to local audiences is more important than ever. Through our exciting partnerships with QPAC, Michael Cassel Group and many others, we could not be happier about increasing access to the arts by bringing TodayTix to Brisbane. We are so excited to be partnering with such high-calibre productions right away and look forward to further promoting Brisbane’s fantastic cultural offerings.
