Winter School Holiday Performances of Mary Poppins in Sydney to Go On-Sale Soon

The winds are soon changing, and from May 2022, Mary Poppins will be blown into the Sydney Lyric Theatre for a strictly limited season. This new production of Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s stage musical of the iconic film will, of course, appeal to those young and old – and for those looking for Winter school holiday entertainment – you may want to keep your eyes on the show’s official ticketing channels.

With pre-sales now on, tickets for Winter school holiday performances (6-17 July 2022) are scheduled to go on general sale starting Monday 14 February 2022. Speaking from personal experience, this would be a wonderful introduction for children into the dazzling world of musical theatre.

The stage adaptation of Mary Poppins was co-created by Cameron Mackintosh, with a book by Julian Fellowes, and original music and lyrics by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman. Much like all of Disney’s film to stage adaptations, although certainly retaining much of the charm that we grew up watching ourselves, Mary Poppins the Broadway Musical features new plotlines and I would argue has a more broader appeal to teenagers and adults than their source material.

The new Australian tour is being powered by The Walt Disney Company Australia & New Zealand, Michael Cassel Group and Cameron Mackintosh.
