Cast Announced for Mamma Mia! the Musical’s Gold Coast Season

After COVID-19 saw their plans to hold a Gold Coast season of Mamma Mia! The Musical dashed in 2020; rather than give up, the creatives at Matt Ward Entertainment continued working to make the magic happen in 2021. One step closer to that, occurring ahead of performances scheduled for 19 June 2021 – 11 July 2021, the show’s main cast list was today unveiled.

Headlining as the role of Donna is Jayde Westaby. If that name rings any bells to any Mamma Mia! The Musical aficionados, they portrayed the role of Tanya in the most recent Australian tour. Performing their on-stage daughter, Sophie, is Madeline Grice. Her casting follows a campaign with 102.9 Hot Tomato to find Gold Coast’s Sophie.

Other cast members include Sean Mulligan as Sam, James Shaw as Harry, Sandro Colarelli as Bill, Lakota Johnson as Sky, Kyra Thompson as Ali, Alicia Fox as Lisa and Donalex Vilitama as Pepper. The ensemble cast also stars Zane Powell, Shyan Andrews, Jackson Brash, David Cuny, Aurelie Roque, Selin Doygun, Ryley Shaw, Maddi Coleman and Carle Doyle.

This season will involve a Queensland creative team including Tim Hill as Director, Bev Kennedy as Musical Director, Adam Gardnir as Set Designer, Jess Hansen as Costume Designer and Wesley Bluff as Lighting Designer.
