Brisbane Audiences Will Be Welcomed to the Rock A Little Bit Later – Come From Away Performances This Week Cancelled

Although producer NewTheatricals was able to avoid the curse associated with many QPAC major musical opening night events since the start of 2020, Come From Away was unable to avoid the impact of COVID-19 entirely in the state. After requiring all patrons to wear masks since Saturday, the announcement by Queensland Premier The Honourable Annastacia Palaszczuk MP earlier today has rendered another lockdown until at least Thursday evening.

However, with the Good Friday / Easter Monday long weekend also upon us and undescribed reasons, the producers have confirmed that all performances of Come From Away scheduled for 3 April 2021 and 4 April 2021 have been cancelled. Those who held tickets for these performances will be contacted in the coming days to reschedule or refund tickets. No performances after the weekend have been cancelled as of late, but with the complexity around the latest cases, this may change at a moments notice.

If you are impacted, please be kind to the box office staff that call you to arrange refunds. I had the pleasure of working closely with many of them, and I know there is nothing more that they want than for you to come away satisfied. But with thousands of tickets to reschedule, expect there to be some delays and brace for the occasional hiccup.
