In 2015/2016, Lunchbox Theatrical Productions toured Cats the Musical across Australia. While there is no shortage of the production being performed live in community theatres across the planet – the one big draw-card the producer had was that acclaimed Australian singer-songwriter Delta Goodrem performed the role of Grizabella during the Sydney, Hobart, Melbourne and Brisbane seasons (in later seasons in Adelaide and Perth the role was performed by Delia Hannah). Even today, Ms. Goodrem performing “Memories” sticks out in my mind. You can read my review of the season HERE.
With the star-studded Cats film recently arriving in cinemas to lacklustre reviews, I felt now was the right opportunity to go through my old photographs and video footage and reminisce about what was ultimately a fun night out at the theatre. This content was captured during the Brisbane Season’s media call at QPAC in January 2016. Due to her being unwell at the time, no scenes with Delta Goodrem were performed, but I recommend checking out an official video of her performing HERE.
