We Will Rock You Begins in QPAC’s Lyric Theatre Tonight

Whether you grew up during the era of Queen, or like myself are younger, most would be familiar with many of the renown British band’s songs. From Bohemian Rhapsody to We Are The Champions, they have performed songs which have stood the test of time, and will undoubtedly by sung for decades if not centuries to come.

We Will Rock You is a stage musical created by Queen and Ben Elton, which brings together 24 of Queen’s hits and incorporates them into one narrative. The show itself takes guests to a dystopian future, where live music is banned on earth. But not letting this stop them, a group of kids decide to rebel, fighting against a diet of synthesized pop.

Following a tour launch in Sydney a few months back, We Will Rock You is set to begin the second leg of its tour in the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) Lyric Theatre as of this evening. The show is set to be rocking at QPAC for more than a month, with tickets on sale for sessions up until Sunday 14 August 2016.

This newest Australian production of We Will Rock You has some big names in its cast line-up. The show stars Gareth Keegan (Jersey Boys) as Galileo, Erin Clare (Heathers) as Scaramouche, Casey Donovan (The Sapphires) as Killer Queen, Brian Mannix (Uncanny X-Men) as Buddy, Jaz Flowers (Hairspray) as Oz, Thern Reynolds (Rock of Ages) as Brit, and Simon Russell (ABC TV’s Jack Irish) as Khashoggi.

Tickets to attend We Will Rock You can be purchased via the QPAC Website. Seats are priced between $59.90 and $139.90, with price dependant on seating preference (Premium, A, B, C), concession status (Weekend matinees) and session preference.
