With the barricades having moved from Sydney to Brisbane, the Capitol Theatre is now host to the Australian premiere of the London Palladium production of The Sound of Music. This is a new production of the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic, which includes all the familiar songs including: Do-Re-Mi, Sixteen Going On Seventeen, My Favorite Things, Climb Ev’ry Mountain and the titular song ‘The Sound of Music’.
The stage musical’s opening night is set to take place tomorrow evening, and will be followed by a multi-month run until February 28 2016. For those who have yet to nab themselves a ticket to see this show yet, tickets for the final weeks of the Sydney season will be released on Monday 21 December. Ticket prices begin at $79.90, and depends on a number of factors.
This Australian production of The Sound of Music will be led by Amy Lehpamer as Maria Rainer and Cameron Daddo as Captain Gorg von Trapp. They will be starring alongside Marina Prior, Jacqueline Dark, Lorraine Bayly, David James and a number of other adult and child performers.
Following the Sydney season, The Sound of Music will be headed to the Queensland Performing Arts Centre Lyric Theatre, with shows set to begin on March 11th 2016.
