Providing further opportunities for Queensland theatre-goers to see the new London Palladium production of The Sound of Music, it has been announced that new tickets for the show have been released. The Brisbane leg of this iconic stage musical’s Australian tour is set to begin on March 11 2016 at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) Lyric Theatre.

The Sound of Music was originally created by the legendary Rodgers and Hammerstein, and is inspired by the lives of the actual von Trapp family. It tells the story of Maria, a fun-loving governess who changes the lives of the widowed Captain von Trapp and his seven children by re-introducing them to music, culminating in the family’s escape from the Nazis across the mountains from Austria. This musical version will feature the songs many would be familiar with, including: Do-Re-Mi, Sixteen Going On Seventeen, Climb Ev’ry Mountain and the titular song: The Sound of Music.

As of writing, tickets are on sale for sessions from launch until April 24 2016. Prices start at $69.90 and can go all the way up to $140.90, which differs depending on session time, seating preference and concession status.
