The Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) have announced that they will be opening their doors to the public on Saturday 10th October 2015 from 8:30AM to 3:00PM as part of the annual Brisbane Open House event.
QPAC will be joining around 100 other locations around Brisbane inviting everyone to find out more about the city’s landmarks over the weekend.
QPAC will be offering a full program of activities on October 10th for the event, including free behind the scenes guided tours, self-guided foyer tours, performances and exhibitions. Guided tours will be held every 15 minutes from 8:30AM to 11:30AM, with the last tour leaving at 11AM. Tours will be limited to 25 people each, with registrations only available on the day in QPAC Reception (Level M).
The free performances on offer include an open rehearsal by QPAC resident company Southern Cross Soloists and free jazz music on QPAC’s Melbourne Street Green by the Queensland Youth Orchestra Big Band.

In our 30th anniversary year we have been focused on delivering more experiences that welcome the people of Queensland to experience their performing arts centre in new ways. We want to encourage a sense of pride within the community that QPAC is a place of meaning and storytelling and their space to attend, participate in and create art.
Brisbane Open House is the second time this year that we invite people to come and take a closer look at and celebrate QPAC. There will be opportunities at Brisbane Open House to get behind the scenes and learn what goes into running a busy performing arts centre.
