The countdown continues for the next major stage musical to grace the Queensland Performing Arts Centre’s Lyric Theatre. The is now less than one week to go until Baz Luhrmann’s Strictly Ballroom the Musical dances its way into Brisbane. Opening night is set to take place next Thursday, with approximately eight shows a week from then.
Strictly Ballroom the Musical is set to run from September 9 until October 17 2015 at the QPAC Lyric Theatre. Ticket prices are between $50 and $150 dependent on session and seating preference. Unlike some other recent shows at the Lyric Theatre, there are no concession tickets available for this production.
This production has been brought to life by several members of the original creative team behind the 1992 film ‘Strictly Ballroom’, including Director and Co-Writer Baz Luhrmann, set and costume designer Catherine Martin, choreographer John “Cha Cha” O’Connell and co-writer Craig Pearce.
In addition to standard tickets, select sessions will also have one or two bonus packages associated with them. The $99 ‘Tina Sparkle’ package includes an A-Reserve ticket and a glass of sparkling, wine, beer of soft drink. The $100 ‘Dine on Us!’ package also includes an A-Reserve ticket, and a meal package from either The QPAC Cafe or Zeus Street Greek.
