As was announced a couple of months ago, the Australian tour of Les Misérables is set to make its next leg the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) – which is set to begin in the Lyric Theatre from November 10 2015. This follows previous seasons in Melbourne and Perth, and the currently on-going season in Sydney.
During its Brisbane season, Les Misérables’ cast is set to receive some new, young, Queensland talent in its ranks. Cameron Mackintosh has recently announced that Billy Bourchier and Sarah Murr, both students of Griffith University’s Queensland Conservatorium, will join the cast.
Billy graduated from the Conservatorium last year and during his time studying secured lead and supporting roles in local productions of Carousel, Into the Woods and Pirates of Penzance. Sarah is currently still studying and will graduate at the end of this year. She too has appeared local productions of Hairspray, Working! and Oklahoma! during her years at the Conservatorium.
Both Bourchier and Murr will join the ensemble of Les Misérables, and will also understudy the principal roles of Marius and Madame Thenardier respectively.
