Producers have today announced the all-Australian cast who will be appearing in the upcoming stage production of CATS – which will be touring across Australia from October 2015 until at least May 2016.
The female cats will include Amy Berrisford as Dementer, Dominique Hamilton as Rumpleteazer, Ashleigh Hauschild as Tantomile, Jade Hui-Wen Coutts as Victoria / The White Cat), Emily Keane as Cassandra, Sarah Landy as Bombalurina, Holly Meegan as Jennyanydots, Samantha Morley as Jellylorum / Griddlebone and Stephanie Silcock as Jemima.
The male felines include Daniel Assetta as Rum Rum Tugger, James Cooper as Admetus / Macavity, Christopher Favaloro as Mr Mistoffelees, Keanu Gonzalez as Alonzo / Rumpus Cat, Ross Hannaford as Skimbleshanks, Brent Osborne as Mungojerrie, Josh Piterman as Bustopher Jones / Gus / Growltiger, Taylor Scanlan as Bill Bailey, Jason Wasley as Old Deuteronomy and Patrick Whitbread as Coricopat.
Also on-stage and taking a role in the show is Madeline Cain (Swing), Emma Delmenico (Resident Choreographer / Swing), Erin James (Swing), Bree Langridge (Swing), Andrew Dunne (Swing), Matt Edwards (Swing), Sam Hooper (Swing) and Stephen Morgante (Resident Director / Swing).
Fans of CATS may have noticed the name ‘Grizabella’ missing from the cast list. They have yet to announce who will portray this role.
Originally produced by Cameron Mackintosh and The Really Useful Group Limited, this Australian tour is based on the West End revival production of the show. It is set to begin at Sydney’s Capitol Theatre from October 30 2015. It will subsequently tour Hobart (Derwent Entertainment Centre), Melbourne (Regent Theatre), Brisbane (QPAC – Lyric Theatre), Adelaide (Festival Theatre) and finally Perth (Crown Theatre).
