Circa’s ‘Carnival of the Animals’ to Perform at The Arts Centre Gold Coast for Four Sessions Only

-

Following its Brisbane run during the Queensland Performing Arts Centre’s (QPAC) 2014 “Out of the Box” festival, The Arts Centre Gold Coast have confirmed that the international circus company Circa will be bringing “the joy of the animal kingdom” to their Arts theatre stage in a few weeks time. Circa are set to perform their rendition of “Carnival of the Animals”, a reinvention of the classic music by French composer, Camille Saint-Saëns (Feathers, Fur and Fins).

Depicting creatures from land, sea and sky, Circa’s performers take children and their adults on a safari through the lives of the tortoise, the elephant, the kangaroo, the swan, the life aquatic and many other beasts. The zebras juggle and flip… kangaroos skip and somersault…There are elephants with street-cred and rhythm… And even the dinosaur bones shake, clatter and roll to the music.

A sneak peek at what to expect can be found in the trailer above.

Targeted at audiences between the ages of 3-8 years old (Although that is not to imply that older children or adults wouldn’t enjoy it), Carnival of the Animals will be performed during four 50 minute sessions across three days: April 30th (6PM), May 1st (10:30AM, 12:45PM) and May 2nd (6:30PM). Tickets will cost around $19.50 each, with family group tickets (2 Adults and 2 Children) going for $59.00. Tickets can now be booked HERE.
