Featuring an original story by Jeff Whitty (Avenue Q), Music/Lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda (In The heights), Music by Tom Kitt (Next to Normal) and additional lyrics by Amanda Green (High Fidelity); it has just been announced that Bring It On The Musical will be holding a very limited season at NIDA Theatres from June 27th to July 9th 2015.
Cheer-royalty Campbell, captain of the Truman High School cheer squad is suddenly forced to spend her final year of high school at the neighbouring hard knock Jackson High School. Despite having the deck stacked against her, Campbell befriends the dance crew girls and, along with their headstrong and hardworking leader Danielle, manages to form a powerhouse squad for the ultimate competition – the National Championships.
There will be 27 performers taking part in this musical, complemented by an Aussie team of director Rod Herbert, musical director Anne-Maree McDonald, choreographer Tracey Rasmussen and stunt choreographer Melissa McKenzie. It is currently unknown if Bring it On will be brought to other venues aside from the NIDA Theatres venue in Sydney.
Tickets for Bring it On the Musical can now be purchased through Ticketek.
