Sentai Filmworks Acquire Vampire Hunter D Anime

North American anime publisher Sentai Filmworks have today confirmed they now hold rights to the anime Vampire Hunter D. The first in a series of films adapted from the light novels written by Hideyuki Kikuchi between 1983 and the present day, Vampire Hunter D depicts a post-apocalyptic nuclear wasteland where pain and suffering run rampant, where vampires and their prey roam the earth. Toyoo Ashida (Fist of the North Star) served as the series' director, with a screenplay by Yasushi Hirano, character designs by Yoshitaka Amano, music from Tetsuya Komura and animation production by Ashi Productions.
