Due to a number of real life demands over the past six months, I have been unable to dedicate as many resources to The Otaku’s Study as I would have liked. Therefore I have been looking at what is possible at least in the immediate future, and will be resuming posting from this week using a new format.
Rather than doing many smaller posts, I will be doing biweekly articles under a number of new “series” that will be unveiled over the next few weeks. These will focus on five areas that have been continual cornerstones of The Otaku’s Study over the years – anime, video games, visual novels, artbooks and figures – with some having one series and others having multiple.
This is not to say that the newsroom element of The Otaku’s Study won’t be resumed at a later date, however this will be dependent on resources over the next couple of months, and I would prefer to get content out to you sooner rather than later.

The first series I will be posting up in the next couple of days is Figured As Much, which will offer in-depth reviews of both new figures released to the Japanese and Western markets, in addition to some older items that are worth talking about given the prevalent pre-owned market for them. As pictured above, the first article will focus on one of the Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu Ka? figures released a couple of months back.
The second of these series, focusing on a particular element of video games, will be announced when the post goes live around the end of this week.
I look forward to welcoming both returning and new readers to the new The Otaku’s Study over the coming weeks..
