The Game Music Foundation has confirmed that two additional major performances will be joining their line-up for Game Music Festival in June 2026. These events, taking place at Fairfield Halls, will join a broader lineup of concerts hosted at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall. The new even will feature a celebration of composer Hitoshi Sakimoto, in addition to a collaborative performance featuring Troy Baker and Austin Wintory.
On 13 June 2026, Fairfield Halls will host ‘The Colors of Harmony: Hitoshi Sakimoto 40th Anniversary Celebration‘. This concert marks the 40th anniversary of Sakimoto’s career and will feature the London Mozart Players orchestra alongside various soloists. The repertoire will draw from titles developed by Vanillaware and Square Enix, including 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, Odin Sphere Leifthrasir, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Final Fantasy XII.
In addition to the concert, the venue will host a day of related activities. This includes an educational talk with Hitoshi Sakimoto hosted by Alex Moukala. A ‘Final Fantasy Pub Quiz’ is also scheduled, which will be hosted by Darryl from Final Fantasy Union and actor Ben Starr.
The second new event, ‘The Art of Game Music: Live with Troy Baker and Austin Wintory‘, is set for 19 June 2026 at Fairfield Halls. This performance features voice actor Troy Baker and composer Austin Wintory. The pair will collaborate on stage to improvise and compose a new piece of music for a hypothetical video game. The London Mozart Players will accompany the duo, performing existing scores from games such as Journey, Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, and Sword of the Sea.
Tickets for these events are currently available through the official Game Music Festival website. The foundation has noted that the ‘Ballads of the Underworld’ concert is sold out, while the ‘Persona Grooves’ event has low ticket availability.
