Following his Les Misérables co-star Patrice Tipoki launching her own debut album a couple of months back, musical theatre star Simon Gleeson has announced that his debut album titled ‘Elements’ will be available for purchase starting July 10th 2015.

His album is being released as he takes to the stage at Sydney’s Capitol Theatre as Jean Valjean in the ongoing Australian production of Cameron Mackintosh’s Les Misérables. Those in Queensland will be able to enjoy this show at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre’s Lyric Theatre starting in November 2014.

The album mingles composers such as Stephen Sondheim and Rodgers and Hammerstein alongside the likes of Elton John, George Harrison and Matt Alber and includes his interpretation of ‘Bring Him Home’ from ‘Les Misérables’. They hope that this will prove both an intimate listening experience and a thrilling insight into the music that has shaped Gleeson as a performer.

Simon Gleeson on ‘Elements’

This collection of stories represents the elements that make up this moment in my life. They are songs about family, love, loss and hope. Some are stories I’ve told on stage and others completely new to me and I’ve tried to tell them using the bare elements in as intimate, uncomplicated and honest way as possible.

Elements will be available through iTunes, with physical copies also available to pre-order via the official Simon Gleeson website.
