Crunchyroll has announced an expansion of its digital reading service, Crunchyroll Manga, through a new partnership with the publisher Shueisha. A diverse selection of comics from the Japanese publisher has been integrated into the platform, contributing to a total library that now exceeds 360 titles.
The update introduces several prominent works spanning various genres. Among these is Hinomaru Sumo by Kawada, which tracks the journey of Hinomaru Ushio, a high school student determined to reach the rank of yokozuna despite being smaller than typical competitors in the sport. Kawada also contributes Blooming Love, a romantic comedy featuring a “crafts girl” and an “art boy” who meet in a school art room.
Fantasy and thriller fans will find Nao Sasaki’s Diamond in the Rough, a story set in a world where stone is central to society and an ore craftsman assists a boy on a quest to save his family. For those seeking more unconventional narratives, My Girlfriend Gives Me Goosebumps! by Shunsuke Iino follows a protagonist searching for a specific thrill he hasn’t felt since a childhood accident, while Excuse me dentist, it’s touching me! by Sho Yamazaki explores the interactions between a yakuza member and a dentist.
