Fans of the television anime series Ascendance of a Bookworm: Adopted Daughter of an Archduke will need to wait a little longer for the initial home video releases in Japan. Due to necessary adjustments in the production schedule, the launch of DVD Volumes 1 and 2 has been postponed. Originally intended to arrive on 29 April 2026 and 20 May 2026, both volumes are now set to release on 10 June 2026.
While the first two volumes have shifted, the remainder of the release calendar remains intact. DVD Volume 3 will still launch on 10 June 2026, effectively meaning the first three volumes will now debut simultaneously. DVD Volume 4 and the comprehensive Blu-ray Box I are both scheduled to follow on 1 July 2026.
The Blu-ray Box I is priced at 34,800 yen and compiles the first 12 episodes of the series across two discs. This premium set includes a tri-fold box featuring original illustrations by You Shiina and a digi-pak case. Additional physical inclusions consist of two CDs featuring the original score and theme songs performed by the cast, as well as a booklet containing art collections, series settings, and interviews with the production staff. On-disc bonuses include promotional videos and creditless versions of the opening and ending sequences.
For those opting for the DVD format, each individual volume is priced at 3,300 yen. Volumes 1 through 3 each contain three episodes, while Volume 4 completes the collection of the first 12 episodes. Although the production timeline has seen minor changes, the content of these upcoming releases remains the same.
