Paramount Pictures and Activision have shared new information on their upcoming Call of Duty film. The project is described as aiming to deliver the series hallmarks that fans expect while also widening the audience for the long running franchise.
In this newest announcement, it was confirmed that Peter Berg is set to write, direct, and produce with his team. Taylor Sheridan will also write and produce, with David Glasser joining as producer.
Berg’s background includes work as a director, producer, writer, and actor. He founded Film 44 and Film 47, and co founded Brighton Maintenance. His credits include creating and executive producing the Emmy nominated series Friday Night Lights and directing Lone Survivor, Deepwater Horizon, and Patriots Day. Under a first look deal with Netflix he directed the global number one series Painkiller and American Primeval, wrote, directed, and produced The Mosquito Bowl based on Buzz Bissinger’s book, and is executive producing a Friday Night Lights reboot. Through Film 47 he continues major commercial campaigns.
Sheridan is known as a creator, writer, director, and executive producer on Paramount Network series including Yellowstone, Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King, 1883, 1923, Lioness, and Landman. Upcoming projects include F.A.S.T., an original thriller dated for April 2027 with Warner Bros., The Madison starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Kurt Russell, and Matthew J Fox, and The Dutton Ranch, a Yellowstone spinoff projected for 2026 with Sheridan as executive producer.
