Gold Coast Film Festival 2014 to Focus on Industry Just as Much as Showing Great Films

-

logoWhen I interviewed Kylie Pascoe, director of the Gold Coast Film Festival last year she mentioned that one of the areas of development for the 2014 event was to increase their “educational activities and promote both filmmaking and filmmakers on the Gold Coast“. One way they aim to do that is through the inaugural REELLIFE program featuring seminars, panels and workshops for industry professionals as well as the emerging sector over the course of two weekends on April 5 – 6 plus April 12 – 13 at The Style Lounge, Pacific Fair Shopping Centre in Broadbeach.

These are one hour long events featuring special guests such as Ian Collie (Saving Mr Banks), Tracey Vieira (CEO of Screen Australia) and Alan Crabbe (Pozible Co-Founder) and focus specifically on a particular aspect of the film industry. If you are interested in breaking into the film industry or just have some spare time between films, I strongly encourage everyone to check them out!

Kylie Pascoe | Gold Coast Film Festival Director

The GCFF is committed to encouraging, promoting and assisting Australian film making talent. The REELLIFE program is designed to educate and inspire filmmakers with an impressive line up of domestic and international film industry leaders. The Gold Coast boasts some of the best film crews and talent in the world and we want to see our region hold onto our great filmmaking reputation, both now and into the future.
