Pixiv’s Request service is still going strong, and since launching in the latter-half of 2020, has seen an estimated 100,000+ requests sent for illustration, manga, novels and animation. While there are still many quality of life improvements that Pixiv could introduce to truly make it a full practical tool to request artist (For example, the ability to search artists with requests open by tag, ability to set notifications on when your favourite artists reopen requests etc), the service is at a point where we haven’t been receiving the monthly service updates as was the case in its first year.
As of 15 September 2022, artists are now able to set cover images for each request term type listed on their profile page. Previously, creators have had to list their terms and set expectations via text only. But now, each type of request service a creator offers, can have an image associated with it – potentially outlining terms and/or giving examples of what clients can expect from each price point.
This update coincides with an update to Pixiv Request guidelines, namely the following:
- Changed the item name of “About age restriction, removal of works, profile pictures” to “About adding and removing age restrictions for works and images”.
- Added [Requests plan cover image] to the contents of the above items.
