While the Pokémon series continues to enjoy a resurgence in the market, one medium that has proved continually capable of drawing in fans is the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG). For some, it has become an investment - so much so that purchasing anything beyond individual booster packs at a reasonable price is now nearly impossible. But offering something more for the fans of the TCG as a game, The Pokémon Company teased a new project that will bring the TCG to a different format: animated film. Titled Pokémon: Wild Card, the anime film is scheduled for release in 2027, with further instalments perhaps to follow. It centres on a Pokémon TCG player and Mimikyu.
