During a stage presentation held on 29 March 2026 at the Pony Canyon booth at AnimeJapan 2026, new details were shared regarding the upcoming animated adaptation of Romelia War Chronicle. The production team confirmed that the series is scheduled to air as a split two-cour (two season) broadcast beginning in 2026, alongside the reveal of a new teaser visual and additional cast members.
The series is based on the light novel Romelia War Chronicle: Even After Defeating the Demon King, Humanity Still Seems Doomed, So I Formed a Military Force, which originally gained popularity on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō platform. The narrative focuses on Romelia, a girl who is discarded by the prince immediately following the defeat of the Demon King. In the aftermath of the war, she establishes a military force to lead the efforts in rebuilding the world.
A new teaser visual has been released to coincide with the announcement. The image features Romelia looking forward, while the characters Henri, Elisabeth, Ekaterina, and Ryoki are positioned behind her with downward gazes, intended to convey a sense of unease and tension. To provide further background on the protagonist, an original Episode 0 titled “The First Step” has been published on the official website. Written by the original author Ryo Ariyama, this prequel depicts the events leading up to Romelia receiving her divine blessing.
The newly announced cast includes Yuya Hirose as Henri, Romelia’s former fiancé, and Sayaka Sembongi as Elisabeth, a saint who previously traveled with her. They are joined by Mariya Ise as the mage Ekaterina and Asaka as the swordsman Ryoki.
