Following the conclusion of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Season 1, Toho Co., Ltd. has officially announced that a second season of the prequel anime is in production and slated for release in 2026. A teaser trailer and visual were also unveiled, giving fans an early look at what’s next for Koichi Haimawari and the cast of underground heroes.
The anime adaptation is based on the spin-off manga My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, created by Hideyuki Furuhashi and Betten Court, with original story elements rooted in Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia universe. Season 2 will once again stream exclusively on Crunchyroll worldwide, excluding Asia.
Season 1 was helmed by director Kenichi Suzuki (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders, Cells at Work!), with Yosuke Kuroda handling series composition and scripting – the same writer behind the mainline My Hero Academia series. The animation production is being handled by Bones Film, who have also been tapped for the Gachiakuta anime adaptation.
In related news, the My Hero Academia Final Season will premiere this October, also on Crunchyroll.
