Wasted Chef: New Project Unites Talents Behind “Pompo: The Cinéphile

In an announcement made by KADOKAWA CORPORATION this evening, it was confirmed the creative forces behind “Pompo: The Cinéphile“, the animated feature film which has been licensed in the west to GKIDS, will be coming together for a new project. While details are slim on what this project will entail, it is being code-named ‘Wasted Chef’, giving the suggestion of it being around a cooking theme.

Shingo Adachi, known for his work on animated franchises such as “Lycoris Recoil” and “Sword Art Online” is set to lead the character design. Meanwhile, Kenta Matsukuma, who debuted his film music composition skills with Pompo: The Cinéphile and subsequently contributed to “Kamen Rider Black Sun” will compose the film’s music.

The animation production duties will be handled by CLAP, an animation studio whose recent work The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbyes was selected for the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. Furthermore, the film will be Takayuki Hirao’s directorial debut for an entirely original work.

Expect to hear more about this new animated feature film in the future.
