Collaboration Between HIDIVE and Nippon TV: HELCK to Premiere At Anime Expo 2023

Anime streaming service HIDIVE, in collaboration with Nippon TV, has unveiled its plans to premiere the first two episodes of the new action-fantasy series, HELCK, at Anime Expo 2023. The North American premiere will take place on Saturday, July 1, in the Platinum Ballroom at the JW Marriott. The episodes will be presented with English subtitles. This is in advance to the series commencing streaming as part of HIDIVE’s Summer 2023 simulcast season.

Tatsuo Sato is at the helm of the series as the director, with Toshizo Nemoto and Mitsutaka Hirota penning the scripts, and animation by SATELIGHT Inc. The voice cast includes Katsuyuki Konishi as Helck, Mikako Komatsu as Vermilio, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Azudra, Akira Ishida as Hon, and Shiki Aoki as Asta.

HELCK is set in the demon world, where after the Demon King’s defeat by a hero, a contest is organized to appoint a New Demon King. Vermilio, one of the Imperial Four Heavenly Kings overseeing the tournament, is enraged by the entry of the human hero, Helck, considered an enemy. Upon receiving news about the fall of Urum castle before the final round, Vermilio embarks on a mission to reclaim Urum Castle, accompanied by Helck and other finalists.
