Josee, the Tiger and the Fish Now in Cinemas Across Australia

Fancy a trip to the cinema, and have the hankering for something heartwarming? Australian anime publisher Madman Entertainment has today commenced screenings of BONES’ animated feature film Josee, the Tiger and the Fish in cinemas across the country.

Being screened exclusively with the Japanese audio with English subtitles, viewers are invited into this adaptation of Seiko Tanabe’s short story.

Josee, the Tiger and the Fish tells the tale of Tsuneo, an ordinary college student and avid diver, who unexpectedly becomes the caretaker of a wheelchair-bound young woman in order to raise money for this dream to go diving in Mexico. This young woman, who calls herself Josee, after her favourite book character, is sullen and demanding, but as Tsuneo helps Josee interact with the outside world and learns more about Josee’s unique perspective, their feelings grow into love. The two begin to support each other in ways beyond just romance.

Josee, the Tiger and the Fish will be screening for a limited time at venues in every Australian state and territory. While it doesn’t have the distribution levels of some of Madman’s bigger films – there are still plenty of venues to choose from.
