In the early days of last month, North American anime publisher Aniplex of America announced they would be doing a dual-audio (English and Japanese) home video release of Persona 5 the Animation next month as part of a single Blu-ray set. While they impressively managed to get all of the game’s primary voice cast in to reprise their respective characters, less impressive is its high $398.98 USD price point. In a market where it is easy to purchase a complete dual-language series collection or even the game it is adapting for well under $100.00 USD, the price point is likely to raise the eyebrows of many.
Fortunately, an alternative option will be available starting today in North America. Funimation Entertainment has confirmed that in the United States and Canada, anime fans will be able to stream all 26 episodes and the two special episodes of Persona 5 the Animation as of today. Each episode will be available with Japanese audio and English dubbed voice options – with each language reuniting their own voice casts.
Persona 5 the Animation’s English voice cast includes Xander Mobus as protagonist Ren Amamiya, Max Mittelman as Ryuji Sakamoto, Erika Harlacher as Ann Takamaki, Cassandra Lee Morris as Morganna, Matt Mercer as Yusuke Kitagawa, Cherami Leigh as Makoto Nijima, Xanthe Huynh as Haru Okumura and Robbie Daymond as Goro Akechi.
No news has been made available around Persona 5 the Animation’s English dub being made available in Europe, Australia or New Zealand as of posting.
