Sentai Filmworks Acquire Rights to Prequel Film No Game No Life Zero

Continuing their work on the “No Name No Life” anime adaptations, Sentai Filmworks have recently confirmed they’ve acquired the rights to prequel movie No Game, No Life Zero. This will premiere in Japan on July 15th 2017, and will presumably have some sort of screening across North America following it.

This film has been directed by Atsuko Ishizuka, who also directed the original 2014 TV anime. Jukki Hanada also returned to helm the script, and animation studio Madhouse is also back on board.

About No Game, No Life Zero

Six thousand years before Sora and Shiro were even a blink in the history of Disboard, war consumed the land, tearing apart the heavens, destroying stars, and even threatening to wipe out the human race.  Amid the chaos and destruction, a young man named Riku leads humanity toward the tomorrow his heart believed in. One day, in the ruins of an Elf city, he meets Shuvi, a female exiled “Ex-machina” android who asks him to teach her what it means to have a human heart.
