Lead English Voice Cast Confirmed for Anime ‘Charlotte’

After first simulcasting the series back in 2015, Aniplex of America have announced their plans to bring Charlotte to home media formats later in 2016.

As is expected from the US-based publisher, this series will not be available as part of a complete collection set, but rather two half-season Blu-ray volumes. The first volume (Episodes 1-7) will be available on August 16 2016, and the second (Episodes 8-13 + Extra) on November 15 2016. Both volumes will have a pricier SRP of $94.98 USD each.

Aniplex of America has commissioned an English dub for Charlotte, with a preview of this dub available above. Directed by Tony Oliver, this dub will star Ray Chase (Magi, Durarara!!x2) as Yu Otosaka, Lauren Landa (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Sword Art Online) as Nao Tomori, Lucien Dodge (Fate/Zero, Magi) as Jojiro Takajo, Ryan Bartley (Your lie in April, Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works) as Yusa and Misa Nishimori, and Kira Buckland (Blue Exorcist, Aldnoah.Zero) as Ayumi Otosaka.

Charlotte is the second collaborative effort of Maeda, Na-Ga, and P.A. Works – following their work on Angel Beats! back in 2010.

About Charlotte

One day, a small percentage of adolescents start to experience an onset of special abilities. Yu Otosaka is one of these ability-wielders and he decides to use his power – the ability to take over any target’s body for five seconds, to get accepted into a prestigious high school. Just when he is about to start his dream high school life as the popular honor student, a girl named Nao Tomori appears before him. Little does he know, this encounter reveals the cruel fate awaiting the special ability-wielders.
