As the months pass by and the inaugural Madman Anime Festival draws closer, we are beginning to learn about new partnerships and guests which will be present across the two-day event. Announcing a “major partner” and “key sponsor” for the event, Madman Entertainment have today confirmed that Bushiroad will have a considerable appearance at the festival.
For those unaware of the company, Bushiroad is a Japanese company which produces a range of anime and trading card games. Some of their more notable games are Cardfight!! Vanguard, Future Card Buddyfight, and the anime-inspired Weiss Schwarz. They will be joining the festival with booths demonstrating/showcasing their products, with some special guest appearances potentially in the works as well.
Every year, Bushiroad holds a major world championship which draws in players from across the globe, with this year being the tournaments fifth anniversary. It should now come as little surprise that the Australia Regional Qualifier rounds for the Bushiroad World Championship 2016 will be held at Madman Anime Festival. Entry into this competition is free, and will cover four different games:
- Cardfight!! Vanguard
- Future Card Buddyfight
- Weiss Schwarz (English)
- Weiss Schwarz (Japanese)
The winners of all four tournaments in the Australian Qualifying leg will receive a grand prize of flights and accommodation and an invitation to compete in the Regional qualifying tournaments held in South East Asia. If successful, they will then progress to Japan for the Bushiroad World Championship. The prizes are courtesy of Bushiroad and will be presented at the Madman Anime Festival. More information on the tournament should be available soon, HERE.

We are thrilled to be teaming up with the Madman Anime Festival and hosting the Australian qualifying rounds of the Bushiroad World Championship. The partnership between the two companies, Madman and Bushiroad will allow us to deliver the tournaments to the large and growing trading card game fan base. The competitors will be able to perform in front of a huge audience thanks to the Madam Anime Festival. It will be a great pre-cursor to the main championship event that is held in Japan towards the end of the year.
In other Madman Anime Festival news, a number of guests from both Japan and America have recently been confirmed. These include Cristina Vee (Sailor Mars – Sailor Moon Crystal | Homura – Puella Magi Madoka Magica), Makoto Furukawa (Saitama – One Punch Man) and Shingo Natsume (Director of One Punch Man). Expect to hear about more guest announcements in the near future.
