Australian anime publisher Madman Entertainment have this morning announced that it is now possible to view their AnimeLab video-on-demand service through FY14 and FY16 Sony TVs (Including Android TVs) and Blu-ray players. This follows the 2014 release of their main AnimeLab website, and release of an Android / iOS app for the service.

Both the free and premium subscription AnimeLab accounts can be used on these platforms, with no additional charge to the consumer. The free option features standard-definition episodes with a brief delay for simulcasts, while the Premium subscription option provides high-definition episodes with immediate access to simulcast episodes and dual-audio content (where applicable). The free subscription is supported by video advertisements, while Premium subscribers can dive straight into an episode.

To date, AnimeLab has over 165,000 signed up users, with approximately 15,000 signing up per month. Each day, the service streams 12,000 hours of video and has over 4,000 episodes across 174 titles in its catalogue. Granted it may not reach the scope of their DVD/Blu-ray offerings, but the number of episodes on offer via AnimeLab continues to grow.

Madman Entertainment have confirmed that availability on additional devices will be coming soon.

It’s fantastic to be working with Sony and to be bringing Anime to the homes of even more fans through its excellent BRAVIA Smart TVs. We will be working to launch AnimeLab on even more devices in the future.
