While this announcement should not come as too big a surprise to anyone who bothered to read the Supanova: Pop Culture Expo event guides for April 2015, Hanabee Entertainment have confirmed they will be launching Soni-Ani Super Sonico the Animation in Australia and New Zealand starting June 2015. This will be released as part of the publisher’s June 3rd release haul, which also includes the third season of Familiar of Zero and an 11-disc 39-episode set of Revolutionary Girl Utena.
Soni-Ani Super Sonico the Animation is set to be released with a hybrid dub, including both the original Japanese dub and newly commissioned English dub starring Jessica Nigri (A renown cosplayer) as the titular character.
Sonico has her work cut out for her as she juggles between an up-and-coming modeling career, performing lead vocals and guitar in an all-girl rock band, a part time waitressing job – all the while fitting this into a student schedule.
But in the midst of this whirlwind lifestyle Sonico remains her grounded ever-affable self and when life gets too much, she can count on her friends and family to have her back. So watch, as Sonico’s extraordinary life unfolds before your very eyes to the beat of her own song.
