A few months ago, North American anime publisher Funimation Entertainment kicked off their “Broadcast Dub” project. Starting with just a handful of titles, this project saw anime being dubbed into English within weeks of first airing in Japan. These dubs might not necessarily be the finished product included in a home video release, but seeks to give fans a choice of how they watch their anime streams.

Funimation have announced that they will be running not two or three, but ten Broadcast Dubs for the Winter 2015 season of anime, in addition to hosting a brand new stream talk show in collaboration with ScrewAttack Entertainment.

On February 18 2015 at 8PM (Eastern) / 7PM (Central), Funimation will be hosting a two hour primetime block of anime content, which features three Broadcast Dubs and their new live discussion and recap shop dubbed “DubbleTalk”. The broadcast dubs will receive an All-Access Pass to watch, however the “DubbleTalk” episodes will be free of charge through the Funimation Website and Twitch.tv.

Gen Fukunaga | Founder and CEO of Funimation Entertainment

The overwhelmingly positive response to Broadcast Dubs and the performance of the first two series—PSYCHO-PASS 2 and Laughing Under the Clouds—made it clear that we’re on the right path. We realize that this is where the future is headed.

Mike DuBoise | EVP & Chief Operating Officer of Funimation Entertainment

We’ve listened closely to our fans and have made changes in both our content offering and technical streaming experience. Broadcast Dubs, combined with our Sub Pass, tent pole titles, industry leading library, and technical improvements, have really accelerated subscription streaming growth.  We’re committed to giving our fans more anime and more ways to watch.
